Animal control reminds Summit County residents to license dogs
Anyone who needs to register their canine with animal control can do so at summitcounty.org. “It’s our way to kind of keep track of them, same as you have to get a Utah driver's license for ID as a person,” Animal Control Officer Lourinda Chilson said. “That way we can keep track of their rabies information, which is the state and county requirement. So we're just fully aware of who's here and who owns them.”
High Times at High West
Utah’s High West Distillery moved production operations from its downtown Park City gastropub to a state of the art distillery in nearby Wanship. The mountaintop distillery is producing award-winning whiskies and equally winning awards for its food and bar programs. This week, High West celebrated its annual Protect The West gala to raise money for three regional charities, and raised $100,000. We’ll visit the distillery and talk with Master Distiller Brendan Coyle on this week’s WhiskyCast In-Depth. In the news, Buffalo Trace has a French flair for the Paris Olympics, and we’ll look at the latest auction results.

Local author’s debut novel brings mystery and humor to the world of running
"There's so many books that discuss running and running culture, and they talk about the dedication, and the perseverance, and the mental and physical anguish to run your first race... this, I think, is the first book that makes light of running," - Ben Gross

DeCarlo joined Boston in 2008 after the death of original lead singer Brad Delp in 2007. For information and tickets, visit parkcityinstitute.org/bsbn.

High West Saloon‘s Matthew Huntley and Nicole Kuo Stankovic from Szechwan Chinese Kitchen will be on site as Grey Coat mentors in the Cocktail Apprenticeship Program (CAP), while High West Saloon’s Arianna Hone will be there, fittingly, in spirit.
Guest Editorial: Bill’s excellent adventure with public transportation in Europe
Editor’s note: Park City Councilor Bill Ciraco is chronicling his exploration of public transportation in Europe in a series of commentaries, beginning with this one. Pioneer Day is expected to make official Salt Lake City’s — and by association Park City’s — role as host city for the 2034 Winter Olympics. This seemed to be an opportune time to travel to Paris and a nearby country that inspired my thoughts on what transportation could do for the Wasatch Back. I would combine a trip to Switzerland with three nights in Paris from July 23-26 to take part in the SLC 2034 Bid Committee festivities there. Disclaimer — none of my trip is being paid for by Park City — this is entirely self funded because I am that focused on transforming what transportation looks like in and around Park City.
