Authorities identified the man who died when he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree July 10 in Lake County.

Roy Hunter, 47, of Cobb, was heading north on Bottle Rock Road west of Cobb about 1:44 p.m. when he lost control of his Toyota Scion and drove off the east side of the two-lane road just north of Spring Hill Road, California Highway Patrol-Clear Lake said in a news release.

His car careered down an embankment, flipped and crashed into a tree. Hunter, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car and died at the crash site.

Alcohol and drugs are not suspected factors in the crash, according to the CHP.
