COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- A SWAT stand-off turned into a deadly house fire in Coeur d'Alene on Sunday afternoon, according to Coeur d'Alene Police Department.

On July 28 around 2 p.m., CDA Police responded to a report of shots fired inside a home hear 9th Street and Spokane Avenue, about a six-minute drive from the Coeur d'Alene Resort.

When officers arrived, they found a man in the front yard of a home with a rifle slung on his back.

CDAPD said the man refused to cooperate with officers and went back inside the home.

A short while later, officers noticed a fire had started in the house and then heard a gunshot from inside the home.

By the time CDA Fire Department arrived, the entire home was engulfed in flames.

CDAFD put out the fire and found one person dead inside the house.

Officials have not yet confirmed the identify of the deceased person.

    This is a developing story.
