The 79-year-old Douglas, a former Bedford resident now living in Irvington-on-Hudson, will be presented the award on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the theater in Stamford. The NCPD Third Squad reports on a commercial burglary that occurred on Wednesday, July 17, at 1:26 a.m. in Carle Place. According to detectives, an unknown male subject forcefully entered Blooming Nails & Spa located at 104 Westbury Avenue by throwing a rock through the front glass door. The subject removed an undetermined amount of U.S. currency before exiting the rear of the store and fleeing the scene on foot eastbound towards Westbury Avenue. The subject is described as a White male, 5’09”-5’10” tall, 160 lbs., with brown hair wearing a long-sleeved blue plaid button-down shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers, gloves and a mask. The investigation is ongoing. Detectives request anyone with information regarding the above-listed incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or to call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
