UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Redbirds 14U baseball team swept a doubleheader from Union City on Monday night by scores of 10-2 and 7-1. Matthew Hurley earned the win for Coldwater as he allowed no hits and two runs over two innings, striking out four and walking three. SHERWOOD TWP. — An 89-year-old Sherwood Township woman drowned in Union Lake Monday afternoon, according to the Branch County Sheriff's Department. Nancy Sines was pulling weeds along the shoreline at her home at 1190 Beech Bay Drive, just south of Riley Dam. Her husband found her in the water and called 911 about 12:20 p.m.
