BRANCH COUNTY — A Lakeland Correction Facility guard is back in jail after allegedly violating his bond while released on charges of possession of meth and introducing drugs into the prison.

Mark Goodlock, 43, of Hillsdale, was initially arrested on June 12 when corrections inspectors and Michigan State Police searched his vehicle as he arrived for work for a shift at the Coldwater prison. He was arrested Friday on the alleged bond violation.

Prison inspector William Matthew developed confidential information Goodlock would allegedly receive approximately $4,000 through a cash app to bring drugs into the prison for distribution by inmates, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Prison investigators searched his vehicle on prison grounds, where they saw a glass pipe with white residue suspected to be drugs, according to the probable cause affidavit.

MSP seized Goodlock’s cellphone and obtained a search warrant.

The prosecutor’s office charged Goodlock with possession of meth, a 10-year felony, and introduction of contraband into a prison, a five-year offense.

The investigation into the alleged plot to bring drugs to inmates in Lakeland Corrections is continuing, according to the Branch County prosecutor.
