CALIFORNIA TWP. — A Tuesday morning Michigan State Police investigation led to the arrest of a Coldwater man and woman and the recovery of stolen items, according to Det. Sgt. Matt Berry.

Trooper Robert Porter answered a complaint just after 4 a.m. on State Line Road, just east of Ray, after the owner discovered someone had broken into the home and taken items.

Using tips and leads, troopers started looking for a blue 2003 Ford F-150 truck.

Berry said a 47-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman from Coldwater were arrested when a “considerable amount of stolen property was recovered.”

Berry said the arrested couple lived out of a camper in the area of S. Willowbrook Road and White Drive in Coldwater.

    Both had multiple active warrants.

A third 47-year-old man from Coldwater was identified as a suspect, and troopers requested a warrant for his arrest from the Branch County prosecutor.
