Pitsenbarger to be honored with new memorial
TROY — Airman First Class William Pitsenbarger, who received the prestigious Medal of Honor 34 years after his death, will have a new memorial erected in his honor. The Miami County Commissioners approved a one-time contribution of $25,000 to Miami Memorial Park in Covington, where Pitsenbarger and his parents are buried, at their meeting on Tuesday, July 23.

The New Bremen Firemen's Picnic kicked off Friday afternoon with the "Firemen's Memorial 5K Fun Run," along with food and beverages. Since 1921, the firemen's picnic has been a chance for the New Bremen German Township Fire Department to connect with the community they serve. While building the family atmosphere, the picnic also helps raise funds to support the fire department, allowing firefighters to strengthen their equipment and services in the event a neighbor needs help.
