Why Jackson State Will Win
The Tigers should continue to do a little of everything right. They were great last season at keeping the turnovers to a minimum, wonderful at controlling the clock, and were balanced enough offensively to be dangerous. That should all continue.
It’s going to take a while to get the ULM defense going. The Warhawk linebacking corps needs an overhaul, the defensive front will be a bit questionable, and as long as the Jackson State offense doesn’t make a slew of mistakes, this should be a fight.
Why ULM Will Win
So what does ULM have to get excited about?
The secondary should be a bit of a plus early on - at least compared to the defensive front. The offense has a shot to be far stronger with an improved line, and there should be a good overall style with more pop and explosion.
As good as Jackson State is this season, it’s still mostly the team that lost to Texas State 77-34. The D has to prove it can hold up against an FBS team, but …
