Why Southeastern Louisiana Will Win
This is a better team than the 2023 version. Eli Sawyer is a veteran quarterback in the rotation, Harlan Dixon is a dangerous, quick back, and the lines should be far stronger.
Along with the head coaching change, the Tulane defensive front needs a little work, the secondary went big in the transfer portal, and overall there are just enough changes made to need a little while to get things working.
Southeastern Louisiana should be able to hold up defensively for a while, but …
Why Tulane Will Win
The Tulane defense will still be a killer.
The run D should stuff everything, the linebacking corps will dominate, and Sumrall’s attacking style should make up for all the early inconsistencies.
As long as the offense isn’t making a ton of mistakes, the other side of the ball will clean up everything else.
Tulane vs Southeastern Louisiana: Who Will Win
The two programs haven’t met since 2014, and this should be a bit more lopsided than the 35-20 Green Wave win back then. Tulane is 7-0 in the history of the series, and that will continue on defense.
The Green Wave O will be a tad ragged - there’s an overhaul being done on the line and receiving corps - but it won’t matter. The defense will make a statement right away.
