Following Saturday's exhilarating slate of games to officially kick off the 2024 college football season, ESPN's Chris Low announced Sunday that head coach Lane Kiffin's brother, Chris Kiffin, will join the staff this fall.

Chris Kiffin has spent the last six years coaching in the NFL as a defensive assistant for the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, and Houston, Texas. In 2021, Chris Kiffin planned on joining the Ole Miss staff but instead decided to return to the Browns. Now as an official member of the Rebels' staff, he is expected to serve as an analyst in some capacity.

The reunion of the Kiffin brothers marks the third instance the two have joined forces as Chris served as a defensive assistant under Lane's staff at USC in 2010 and defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Florida Atlantic in 2017.

Chris also rejoins the Rebels program, where he previously acted as defensive line coach and defensive recruiter under Hugh Freeze from 2012-16.

As the media predicted the Rebels to finish fourth in the SEC this fall, adding Chris Kiffin as an analyst could aid the program in their effort to capture the first outright SEC crown since 1963.

The No. 6-ranked Rebels' season opener will occur on Aug. 31, when the program welcomes the Furman Paladins to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium for a 7:00 p.m. ET kickoff. The game will be broadcast on both SEC+ and ESPN+.
