LSU head coach Brian Kelly is facing heat following a 27-20 loss to USC on Sunday.

Finebaum shredded the third-year Tigers' coach during ESPN's "Get Up" on Monday. He took particular issue with Kelly's fiery postgame news conference , where the longtime college coach pounded his fist on the table and berated himself for not doing a better job.

"When Brian Kelly walked into the press conference and showed emotion, then it was too late," Finebaum said.

"I don't want to hear it after the game," he continued, before delivering his sharpest barb.

"And don't give me this, 'I need to do a better job coaching.' You're paid $11 million to do the coaching into the game and throughout the game," added Finebaum.

Kelly is in the third year of a 10-year, $95 million contract he signed in November 2021 .

The loss dropped LSU to 0-3 in season openers under Kelly. The program hasn't won its first game of the season since 2019, when it won its last national championship.

The Tigers rebounded from their 0-1 start in 2022 to reach the SEC championship game in Kelly's first season. Last year, LSU finished 10-3, and quarterback Jayden Daniels won the Heisman Trophy.

With the expanded 12-team playoff, LSU's season is far from over. But patience is wearing thin on its head coach.
