2024 Team Talent Preview: Maryland
TOTAL OFFENSE- 845.86 (18th) Quarterback- 129.1 (16th) Starter- MJ Morris (64.6) Reserves- Billy Edwards (43.1), Cameron Edge (29.5), Khristian Martin (27.9) Maryland is faced this year with replacing Taulia Tagavailoa who set the Big Ten record for career passing yards (test out that fun fact with your friends). They decided to turn to North Carolina State transfer MJ Morris to fill the hole who last year started 4 games for the Wolfpack before deciding to shut things down and redshirt in advance of a transfer he already knew was coming. His career totals of 6.8 yards per attempt with 14 TDs and 6 INTs don’t exactly inspire confidence that he is an immediate impact starter. Morris’ backup should be Billy Edwards who was also the backup last year and completed just 33% of his passes across 30 attempts. Not great. Although Edwards at least came in as a short yardage wildcat rushing option and had 7 rushing TDs.
