Texas A&M head coach Michael Earley and his coaching staff have been very active in the transfer portal recruiting several Division I prospects but they’ve also found talent at the community college level.

The latest player to commit to the Aggies is freshman right-handed pitcher Clayton Freshcorn, who announced his decision via social media on Sunday night.

“Truly blessed,” Freshcorn stated via X. “Thankful for this opportunity!”

Freshcorn played one year at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. He appeared in 16 games for the Highlanders, starting 10 and recording a 4-3 overall record with 3 saves. Freshcorn totaled 61.0 innings pitched with a 2.36 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 79 strikeouts.

Standing at 6-foot, he was born in Houston. Freshcorn graduated from Waller High School in the Lone Star State where he earned a first team All-District selection.

Following the departure of “ Stopper of the Year ,” senior LHP Evan Aschenbeck , Freshcorn is likely a candidate to become closer for Texas A&M next season.
