Former Aggies Bryce Deadmon and Shamier Little were joined by Vernon Norwood and Kaylyn Brown in finishing the race in 3:07.41.

“I always knew we were going to run fast,” Little said afterwards. “We talked about, you know it’s going to take a record to get a medal, but it took a record to win our prelim.”

The previous record was 3:08.80, set in 2023 by another group of Americans. Deadmon ran fastest among the bunch, doing so in a jaw-dropping 44.17 seconds.

“I guess we’ve got a lot left,” Deadmon said. “I didn’t think we were going to do that today, so I’m excited for tomorrow for sure.”
