Former Texas A&M, Kentucky WR Raymond Cottrell has found his new home

Looking back at Texas A&M’s 2023 recruiting class, one of former head coach Jimbo Fisher’s prized Florida-based commitments left the program after his final season with the program, as former 4-star WR Raymond Cottrell will not head back to the Sunshine State for the 2024 season.

For college football fans who pay close attention to recruiting rankings, even the highest-rated prospects don’t end up where we all expect them to because, at the end of the day, these are just kids looking for the best place to showcase their skills and play the game they love at a high level.

In just one season with the Aggies, Cottrell appeared in just one game and recorded the only reception of his Texas A&M career, which resulted in a 13-yard touchdown, after initially transferring to Kentucky early in the offseason, which looked like a perfect fit on paper.

However, after entering the transfer portal again, On3’s Pete Nakos has reported that Cottrell will join Division II West Florida for the 2023 season and should receive ample playing time as soon as he steps on campus.

    Good luck, Raymond!
