The Texas A&M Aggies are going to be hitting the reset button on the offensive side of the ball this season.

Though things will likely change drastically from the previous regime to Mike Elko and Collin Klein , the team is certainly looking to turn the clock back on a player who showed some serious promise during his freshman season in 2022 .

Donovan Green came in and contributed immediately at the tight end position, catching two touchdowns and over 200 yards on the season. What was potentially expected to be a breakout season last year was cut short before it ever got started when Green tore his ACL in fall camp a year ago. On the eve of Elko's first fall camp getting started, he was asked about Green's recovery and said that he's still working his way back.

"Yeah, I think Donovan, it's going to take time for him. I think when you talk about coming back from an ACL, that's not easy. It's not one of those injuries where it was a sprained ankle and it's healed and so you're fine. He's still working his way back to being able to plant, cut, move the way he wants to. That'll be an ongoing process through fall camp," Elko said. "The challenge you have coming back from an injury like that is first you got to get through the rehab to get where you're cleared. Then once you're cleared, now you're going to have to go through the mental challenges that come of you're not going to play. The first time you go out to practice, it's not going to be what you hope it is. You're going to struggle more than you want to. Now, keep him pushing through that so that when we get to Notre Dame, he's ready to go. But I know he will be. I have a lot of confidence in him."

If Green can be on the field for week one , it would be a huge boost for an Aggie offense that will need all the help it can get against a stifling Notre Dame defense.
