Texas A&M Aggies Head Coach is Tired of Talking About Last Year

The Texas A&M Aggies and their head coach are tired of talking about last year.

As the team continues to push through fall camp , Mike Elko and his team are focused on turning the page.

The Aggies' head coach took the time in his closing statement of his Tuesday media availability to make a request of local media, and that request was to stop referring to last year when talking to players on the team.

"If I could just ask one favor. As we get our guys up and they come up to talk to you, if we could stop trying to reference last year, I think that would be great. I think we're nine months removed now. I feel like every kid that comes in front of you gets four questions trying to compare this year to last year. Let's just not do that. I think we're way past that. I think we're beyond that," Elko said to the College Station media. "I appreciate you guys. I appreciate the job that you guys have to do. I just think we're at a point now where let's just focus on the 2024 football team and let's move this thing forward. If we could please do that, I'd appreciate it."

It's just another indicator that it's a new era in Aggieland as Elko continues to lay the groundwork for the type of program he wants to run. No longer will there be any sort of looking to the past, it's all about the future for the Texas A&M Aggies.
