NTSB’s report said the crash took place at 8:16 a.m. and killed the pilot, Natalie Gillis , 34, of Canada. The investigation found the plane climbed to 800 feet after taking off from Albany International Airport, rolled roughly three times, and then crashed.

Gillis logged about 22 hours of flight time on the plane, which was on its way back to Canada from performing aerial survey flights in North Carolina. The NTSB said the aircraft was fully fueled before it departed from the airport, and the wreckage was kept for examination.
