    Galley Road water main replacement project to take a year

    (COLORADO SPRINGS) — Colorado Springs Utilities (Springs Utilities) announced a project happening on Galley Road starting on Monday, July 8, and will last until August 2025.

    Springs Utilities said the project will install more than 4,400 feet of water main and add new lining to more than a mile of existing water main. The project should increase water quality and service reliability for the area.

    Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead. While access will be maintained throughout the project, crews will be working in the roadway. During the project traffic impacts will be posted to the project’s website .

    The project is scheduled to be worked on in four phases along Galley Road:

    • Phase one : Moffat Circle to Wooten Road (July 8, 2024 to September 2024)
    • Phase two : Wooten Road to Babcock Road (September 2024 to February 2025)
    • Phase three : Sand Creek to Space Center Drive (February 2025 to March 2025)
    • Phase four : across Powers Boulevard (March 2025 to August 2025)
