CSPD: Suspect at large after gas station robbery

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a robbery alarm on Sunday night, July 15.

CSPD officers were dispatched to a Valero gas station located at 8100 North Academy Boulevard at around 11:40 p.m. on Sunday. While responding to the scene, officers were notified that the clerk was reporting a robbery with a firearm, with a time-lapse of 10 minutes.

The suspect displayed a small handgun and demanded the money from the safe. According to CSPD, the suspect was not located and left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. It is unknown if they left on foot or in a vehicle.

CSPD said the suspect was described as a Hispanic man in their mid to late 20’s, 5’7, weighing around 120 pounds.
