(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A good Samaritan helped transport an injured victim of a possible stabbing on Tuesday morning, July 16.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers were originally notified by members of the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) about a possible shooting at a gas station in the 1000 block of South Nevada Avenue, south of Downtown Colorado Springs.

CSPD said a good Samaritan found an adult man suffering from some kind of injury near Fountain Boulevard and Chelton Road and was transporting him to a hospital when the individual spotted CSFD and stopped for medical attention.

CSPD said the victim was “in an altered mental state” and was not providing much factual information. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, which were determined to be caused by a possible stabbing, not a gunshot.

The incident remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.
