Where good news shines

Air Force football's Payton Zdroik was named to the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 Watch List Thursday.

Zdroik, a junior nose guard from Brentwood, Calif., joined a list comprised of all-star game-eligible players through college football. Last season he had 32 tackles, including 6.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He's expected to anchor the Falcons' defensive line.

Air Force went 9-4 in 2023 with a 31-21 win over No. 24 James Madison in the Armed Forces Bowl, a fifth-straight bowl win for the academy. The Falcons were picked fourth in the 2024 Mountain West preseason media poll.
