Optum Urgent Care closes locations in Colorado Springs, Monument

(COLORADO SPRINGS/MONUMENT, Colo.) — Patients in Colorado Springs and Monument were greeted with signs on the doors of several Optum Urgent Care locations saying they were closed.

The signs did not offer an explanation for the closures but FOX21 spoke with an Optum Care representative who said Optum did not have the personnel to staff the urgent care services and were forced to close.

According to the most recent listings online, Optum Urgent Cares are permanently closed at 1633 Medical Center Point, the Roundhouse location at 600 South 21st Street, and in Monument at 15909 Jackson Creek Parkway.

X-ray services will still be offered through Aug. 1 and no other Optum facilities and care services are currently impacted and will remain open.

FOX21 News reached out to Optum for more information, and they provided the following statement:

We continually review the capabilities and services we offer to meet the growing and evolving needs of our businesses and the people we serve. As always, we will support affected team members with job placement resources and seek to deploy them where possible to any open roles within the company.  We are merging some clinic operations in Colorado Springs and look forward to patients accessing care at several additional locations we continue to operate throughout the community.
