While spending some off-time in South Florida, Colorado star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, a possible No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft, worked out with fellow college football stars.

As shown in a recent Well Off Media video, Miami's Cam Ward and Virginia Tech's Kyron Drones joined Sanders in a workout before enjoying some time on a nice yacht to watch fireworks.

While the three are known to be close friends, Ward was shown ripping the son of Deion Sanders for a lackluster showing, going as far as to say that he couldn't handle the heat. The criticisms don't stop there either, as the new Miami signal-caller told Sanders that he and his team didn't get better that day and also implied Sanders wasn't trying hard enough.

Sanders insisted that it would be easier for Ward to handle the heat, considering he now resides in Florida and told Ward that he'd struggle in Colorado. Something led to Ward telling him that he's been there and done that thanks to his time in Pullman at Washington State, which he said was colder than Colorado.

Both Ward and Sanders will be looking to lead their respective programs to a conference title in 2024, and each of them will have new foes to learn. Ward spent the past couple of seasons at Washington State before entering his name into the transfer portal this offseason, declaring for the NFL draft, and then transferring to Miami. Conversely, Sanders is heading into his second season at Colorado and his first in the Big 12 following the latest wave of conference realignment.

The two faced off momentarily this past season before Sanders went down with an injury early in the game that saw Washington State win 56-14. They are both expected to contend for the top quarterback spot in the 2025 NFL draft and while Sanders is viewed as having the edge by analysts, Ward may not see it that way.
