Howard County Police are investigating a deadly shooting inside The Mall in Columbia on Saturday.

Authorities say it happened shortly after 6 p.m. when officers received a call for gunfire in the area of the food court.

When officers arrived, they confirmed that one person was dead. That person has now been identified as 17-year-old Angelo Little.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting may have stemmed from an altercation inside the mall.

Authorities say there is no indication of an active shooting and no ongoing threat inside the mall.

Officers were able to evacuate people in an orderly fashion, and the mall was fully cleared by 9:00 p.m.

Detectives believe the victim was targeted.

Police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for anyone with information leading to an arrest.

A GoFundMe for Angelo Little's funeral expenses has already raised more than $7,000 .

He is described as "a funny, energetic young man who was always ready to care for the people he loved."

They are asking anyone with information to contact detectives at 410-313-STOP or HCPDcrimetips@howardcountymd.gov.
