    Five people recovered Monday morning from several water rescues throughout Columbia

    COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

    The Columbia Fire Department said five people were rescued Monday morning from several water rescues throughout Columbia.

    Katherine Rodriguez, spokeswoman for the Columbia Fire Department, said several vehicles were trapped in floodwaters at Broadway and Providence Road another near Bear Creek Trail and Rangeline Street.

    Boone County Joint Communications sent out several alerts Monday morning for flooded roads across the county.

    Just before 6:30 a.m. West Gillespie Bridge and South Coats Road were closed due to flooding.

    About a half hour before that, BCJC alerted North Oneal Road and West Wilcox Road was flooded.

    North Blackfoot Road and West Roemer Road along with Northland and Blue Ridge Road were alerted to be closed also due to flooding around 5:20 a.m.
