Columbia hip-hop lovers should prepare for a helping of Grits and Gravy this fall.

That's the name of the tour that brings rapper Yung Gravy to The Blue Note. The Minnesota musician, born Matthew Raymond Hauri, will play the Ninth Street venue Oct. 8.

Hitting the atmosphere with the "Mr. Clean" EP in 2016, Yung Gravy has churned out a series of smash singles; "Betty (Get Money)," "Mr. Clean," "oops!" and "Welcome to Chilis" all have at least 100 million streams on Spotify.

AllMusic's Fred Thomas describes the Yung Gravy style as "smooth but irreverent," uniting "trap beats with samples from various retro styles including doo wop and 1950s pop."

Yung Gravy collaborated on the recent single "White Claw" with country legend Shania Twain and has worked with the likes of Juicy J, Lil Baby and Chief Keef. The artist also keeps a high profile on social media, with more than 2 million Instagram followers and a whopping 7.2 million followers on TikTok.

Carter Vail will open the Oct. 8 date. Tickets are $39.50-$49.50. Visit https://thebluenote.com/event/yung-gravy/ for more information.
