Morris played at the University of Missouri from 2019-22 as the team's catcher. He appeared in 88 games throughout his career with the Tigers and was named to the Spring SEC Honor Roll for the 2021 and '22 seasons. Morris, a Columbia native, played baseball and football at Battle High School.

He steps into the same role that Ehrich Chick previously held. Chick took the Hickman head coaching job at his alma mater in early July.

Morris will be taking over a program that has experienced plenty of success with a 66-27 record and a 2022 MSHAA Class 3 state title over the past six seasons.
