    St. Pat’s in Five Points Holds charitable check presentation supporting 40 local charities

    St. Pat’s in Five Points celebrated its 42nd season by recognizing 40 Midlands-area charities and nonprofit organizations at its annual charitable check presentation on Tuesday, May 14, at Andy’s Deli, 2005 Greene St. in Columbia, South Carolina.

    “Not only does this festival bring our community together, but to be able to donate to so many deserving charities every year, is truly something special,” says Heather McDonald, executive director of the Five Points Association. “It is an honor to have donated more than $1.2 million dollars over the festival’s history, with this year being our largest donation amount to date, and we could not be happier.”

    The event underscores St. Pat’s in Five Points’ commitment to giving back to the Midlands community that has been its biggest supporter. Throughout the festival’s 42-year history, the Five Points Association has donated more than $1.2 million. This year’s donation is the festival’s largest to date, with $67,100 going to support 40 local charitable organizations, including:

    “Thank you to everyone involved in this year’s St. Pat’s in Five Points. Our 42nd year proved to be one of our most engaging and memorable experiences and would not have been possible without our many volunteers, valued sponsors, community partners, committee and attendees,” says McDonald. “We are so grateful we are able to share this community event with so many and look forward to making more memories in 2025.”

    This year’s St. Pat’s in Five Points festival welcomed more than 32,000 attendees. The event featured several new highlight attractions, including The Saint mocktail lounge, Paddy’s Mini-Ramp Jam and WaterMonster hydration stations. The relocation of the Pot O’ Gold Playland to Andy’s Deli and the sold-out Lucky Leprechaun VIP area were also very popular.

    Additionally, 2,237 participants from 14 states, ranging in ages from under 18 to over 65 years old, took part in this year’s Get to the Green race.
