OBITUARY: David Lukonen Jr.

David Lukonen, Jr., beloved husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather, passed away on July 7, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.

Born on May 30, 1960, in West Branch, Michigan, to David Lukonen Sr. and Mabel Marie Bennett Lukonen, David’s life was marked by his kindness, tender-hearted nature, and deep love for his family.

David was an avid dog lover, known for his easygoing personality and his passion for tinkering with older cars. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life and was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a smile. He was also an avid jokester and loved to laugh. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

David is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Lukonen; his parents, David Lukonen Sr. and Mabel Marie Bennett Lukonen, and his sister, Dara Lukonen; his children, Heather (Ryan) Brown and Zachary Lukonen; his stepdaughter, Sharayah (John) McKellar; and his cherished step-grandchildren, Henlee and Rubee McKellar.

A celebration of David’s life will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories from 12:00 PM until the start of the service. David’s warmth, kindness, and love for his family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
