OBITUARY: Shirley Jean Spires Bunting

Shirley Jean Spires Bunting, 71, long-long resident of Columbia, and retired store manager for McDonalds, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Born on March 10, 1953 in Columbia, TN, she was the daughter of the late Paul Spires and the late Rosie Wiley Spires. Mrs. Bunting loved her family dearly, and her greatest joy was spending time with them, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Lynn Gillis; grandchildren, Savanna Gillis, Austin (Rachel) Hill, and Haley (Tyler) Steiner; great-grandchildren, Cyndi Hill, Mason Steiner, Noah Steiner, Jason Steiner, and Atticus Steiner; her two special nieces, Mary McClain and Kathy Harper who took wonderful care of her; as well as several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Ruth Hill.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Swango officiating.
