    Cherokee Fire Earns Top Honors at Georgia Police and Fire Games

    Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services has earned first place at the Georgia Police and Fire Games.

    The games were held last week in Columbus.

    The department's three-on-three basketball team clinched the first-place title.

    The basketball team, which consisted of Sgt. Eddie Barajas and Fire Apparatus Operators Bonn Ellerbee and Michael Hood, went undefeated throughout the tournament.

    The trio won the championship game with a score of 21-5 to secure the first-place trophy.

    At the games, CCFES also finished in second place in the softball tournament.

    Fire Chief Eddie Robinson said he and the department are proud of both teams' accomplishments.

    "We are incredibly proud of our firefighters for their outstanding performance at the Georgia Police and Fire Games. Their dedication, teamwork and competitive spirit exemplify the culture of Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services," he said. "These achievements not only reflect their athletic abilities but also their commitment to representing our community with honor and integrity."

    The Georgia Police and Fire Games is an annual event that brings together law enforcement officers and firefighters from across the state to compete in a variety of athletic events.
