UPDATE: Police say crash on 13th St. started as a chase in Phenix City

UPDATE 7/15/24 5:41 p.m.: WRBL has confirmed new details on the crash that happened at 13th St. and Third Ave. earlier on Monday.

Police say there was a chase involving a stolen car leading up to the crash. It started in Phenix City.

Columbus police have confirmed there are suspects in custody. There is no further information at this time.

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — Police are present at a crash in Columbus on late Monday afternoon.

A vehicle appears to have struck a pole at the intersection of 13th St. and Third Ave.

There is no word on injuries at this time. There are suspects in custody in connection to this crash.

Third Ave. is closed between 13th and 14th St. as of about 4:30 p.m.
