UPDATE: Muscogee Co. Coroner’s Office releases identity of married couple found dead in Windsor Park

UPDATE 7/24/24 4:37 p.m.: The Muscogee County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the husband and wife who were found dead on Winvelly Drive Wednesday morning.
According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, 79-year-old Jerry Wayne Wilson and 72-year-old Angela Wilson were pronounced dead at 9:36 a.m. Their manner of death is still to be determined by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
WRBL will update you with more information as it becomes available.
UPDATE 7/24/24 11 a.m.: Columbus police violent crimes unit is on the scene at Winvelly Drive. There is a double death investigation involving what a source tells WRBL is a husband and wife.
One body is inside a home. One body is just outside the doorway. Cause of death has yet to be released.
Columbus police spokesperson Brittany Santiago says the scene is secure and the situation poses no threat to the surrounding community.
Police say the call came in at about 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Officers have blocked off Canberra Avenue at Winvelly Drive. Multiple detectives and the Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Dustin Harrelson are on the scene.
A house at the corner of Winvelly and Canberra is blocked off by crime scene tape. A sedan and an SUV are in the driveway.

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — Two bodies have been found on Winvelly Drive, according to the Columbus Police Department.
Authorities are present at the scene as of about 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
