QUINCY — It started with a door ding. Dylan Test, 20, was sentenced to serve 18 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on Monday morning by Judge Tad Brenner in Adams County Circuit Court. He waived his right to a jury trial on Feb. 27 and entered a guilty plea on April 30.

QUINCY — The Quincy Police Department says a recent phone scam involves someone pretending to be Adam Yates, chief of the police department. A press release from QPD says the scam consists of a phone call from someone posing as the chief of police advising the person on the phone of a pending arrest warrant(s) and the seizure of assets that would take place without compliance. The caller seeks personal information and money.
