Ohio State had quite the offseason the last handful of months and it’s a big reason why they’re a trendy pick to win it all in 2024 .
In mid-July, EA Sports will release the new College Football 25 video game which is highly anticipated. In the meantime, they are releasing ratings for the best offenses and defenses around the country.
While Ohio State did not get the top spot for the offensive unit which is questionable at best. The Buckeyes did get the top spot on offense with a 96 overall. Georgia, Oregon, Alabama, and Clemson follow the Buckeyes in the ratings.

For starters, the Buckeyes were able to bring back a ton of talent that could have gone to the NFL. Losing to Michigan and not making the College Football Playoff left a bad taste across the program. They were able to get back wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, running back TreVeyon Henderson, defensive ends Jack Sawyer and J.T. Tuimoloau, and cornerback Densel Burke.
Additionally, Ohio State went out on the transfer market and got safety Caleb Downs, who will have a high ranking in the video game. Sonny Styles is now a linebacker and will make the switch from safety. It will be the third season for the Buckeyes with Jim Knowles leading the defense.
The Buckeyes will be a fun team to use and may be quite unfair depending on who you are playing in terms of matchup. Just a few more weeks until the video game is here and a couple of months until the season starts.
