    Will Howard Summed Up Jeremiah Smith’s Potential With One Word

    Will Howard had plenty to say about freshman wideout Jeremiah Smith for the Ohio State Buckeyes, per On3 Sports' Nick Schultz .

    After transferring from the Kansas State Wildcats, Howard enters his first season in Columbus. Howard recorded a career-high 2,643 passing yards and 33 total touchdowns last season with Kansas State.

    Howard recently spoke at the Manning Passing Academy and expressed his excitement about working with the promising wideout.

    The Ohio State quarterback even predicted that Smith would be "special."

    “Pretty unbelievable,” Howard said. “That true freshman, Jeremiah Smith, he’s gonna be special, man. Between him, Emeka [Egbuka], Carnell [Tate], those three are probably the featured guys.”

    Smith was a member of the 2024 class and a former five-star receiver. Smith was the top overall prospect, receiver, and recruit out of Florida, per the On3 Industry Rankings .

    Ohio State has a history of producing top-receiving talent. Recent players include Terry McLaurin, Michael Thomas, Chris Olave, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Garrett Wilson.

    The Buckeyes finished the 2023 season with an 11-2 record. Ohio State will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak to the Michigan Wolverines this season.

    Ohio State opens the 2024 season against the Akron Zips on Aug. 31 via CBS.
