Best Day Ever: Columbus Humane's new CEO

• Erich Hunker started the new role on June 20, continuing an expansive career with experience in law enforcement, zoos, and private schools.

His local favorites:

🎵 Music to start your day: The soundtrack to the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody." There are songs to fit any mood, and listening to Freddie Mercury's voice never gets old.

• I'm partial to "Don't Stop Me Now" for something to get the blood rushing and wake up the brain.

🥓 Breakfast: French toast with a side of thick-cut bacon at any Bob Evans .

📺 Morning activity: I like to ease into my day, so I usually take the time to have 2-3 cups of coffee while watching local news, followed by SportsCenter on ESPN.

🍝 Lunch: Skyline Chili . There is one right in front of the new Essential Care Center we opened in South Columbus in 2023. I always get a medium five-way, cheese on the side, crackers, hot sauce, and a sweet tea.

🐴 Afternoon activity: A long horseback ride or walks along trails at The Dawes Arboretum with my wife, Mary.

🐟 Dinner: Cameron's American Bistro , and I absolutely love the Cameron's Walleye.

🥃 Evening activity: Sitting outside on our patio with a bourbon drink in hand, watching the sunset, and catching up on our days and the lives of our family and friends.
