An unknown man flashed a gun during a confrontation with firefighters at a mobile home fire in Franklin Township Monday morning, according to the Columbus Division of Fire.

Firefighters received a call about 8:30 a.m. about the blaze at a home in the Avalon Mobile Home Park located in the 1100 block of Geneva Avenue, Battalion Chief Jeff Geitter said.

A man drove his vehicle over the hoses firefighters were using to combat the fire, Geitter said. Firefighters told him to stop. During an ensuing argument with firefighters, the man got out of his vehicle and displayed a gun in his waistband or pocket, Geitter said.

Police have made no arrests as of Monday afternoon, but Franklin Township Police are investigating the incident.

Video captured by a user of the Citizen app captured some of the aftermath of the blaze but not the encounter between the suspected armed man and the responding firefighters.

Columbus firefighters managed to get the fire under control quickly without injury. The cause of the fire also remains under investigation.
