Justin Fields finds himself fighting for a QB1 spot with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but there was once a time when he starred at Ohio State. The youngster had a plethora of weapons at his disposal as well who all ended up being first-rounders. We're talking about guys like Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson.

One player who also played for the Buckeyes and is now a promising NFL talent is Detroit Lions WR Jameson Williams. However, he eventually left Columbus for greener pastures in Tuscaloosa, becoming a key cog for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

There's clearly a good reason Williams departed Ohio State, too. Fields made an appearance on the St. Brown Podcast and revealed that the Buckeyes misused him badly:

"They were playing with Jamo," Fields said. "I'm not gonna cap. They were playing with Jamo.

"He's the run-off guy to get Garrett [Wilson] or Chris [Olave] open, basically," Fields explained. "He's the alert versus the quarters coverage or something like that. But they really weren't messing with Jamo, but I'm glad he left. And he went crazy at Bama."

Essentially, Ohio State was not interested in incorporating Williams into their offense. He played two years for the Buckeyes before going nuclear in his third college season at Bama, reeling in 79 catches for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns.

That resulted in the Lions picking him 12th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. He's now a crucial part of Detroit's offense out wide alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown. Needless to say, going to Alabama was a great decision.
