Classified Trailer Previews Prime Video’s Coming-Of-Age Spy Drama

This is “not your typical coming-of-age story.” Prime Video has released the trailer for Classified, an espionage drama centering on a normal teenage girl as she turns into a spy.

Set to arrive on the streamer on August 22, the series is created by Kagiso Lediga. It stars Imani Pullum (The Orville) as Ella Gardner, Christine Horne (The Fallout) as Dianne, Sule Rimi (Andor) as Gabe, Paballo Koza as Lolo, Mila Rayne as Gwyn, Neels Clasen as Wynand, and more.

What is Classified about?

The series centers on Ella Gardner, who must leave her home in California after an arrest due to a protest. However, as she starts to spend the rest of her high school years in a different location, she will soon face a different reality than what she’s accustomed to.

Per the official synopsis, Classified “follows 15-year-old Ella, a student at a public school in Oakland, California. Gifted with a flowing tongue, Ella is a weaver of yarns. A skateboarder with a skillful street style, she is a firebrand—defiant and rebellious in nature. Arrested at a protest and facing serious jail time, Ella avoids incarceration thanks to her stepmother, Dianne, who has connections in high places. As part of the deal, Ella must leave her home in California and spend the remainder of her secondary education with her father and Dianne in Johannesburg, South Africa. Ella’s world is turned upside down as she navigates a very different reality than the one she has known.”
