Directed by Amar Kaushik, the Stree franchise made its debut in 2018 and received praise from audiences. According to the trailer, the thriller revolves around a new monster named “Sar Kata Bhoot,” who has arrived in Chanderi Village. What happened in Chanderi town?

In the town of Chanderi, people were scared of a figure called Stree during the festival season. They believed that she appeared for four days each year and took away men who were outside alone. To protect themselves, the townspeople wrote a message on their walls: “O Stree Kal Aaana (O Stree, come tomorrow),” hoping to keep her away.

Despite the fear, Vicky, a young tailor from a nearby village, didn’t believe in the spirit. As the festival got closer, he met a beautiful girl (Shraddha Kapoor) who came to him for a lehenga. Attracted to her, Vicky met the girl again outside the temple on the first night of the festival.

Later that night, Vicky and his friends had a party at a friend’s house. During the party, Vicky went outside and accidentally wiped off part of the protective message on the wall. He didn’t know that this small mistake would have serious consequences. That night, one of Vicky’s friends disappeared, taken by the Stree, causing panic in the town. The next night, another friend, Jana, also went missing.

That night, Vicky met the mysterious girl again, and she led him to a dense forest. As they talked under the moonlight, the girl suddenly disappeared, leaving Vicky scared. He quickly went to find his friend Bittu, who told him about Jana’s disappearance and revealed that the girl might be Stree.

Realizing the danger, Vicky quickly stitched the clothes the girl had given him and went back to confront her. In a frightening twist, the girl turned into a ghostly figure right before Vicky’s eyes, confirming his doubt.

Stree ending: How did Vicky save Chanderi from Stree?

After this encounter, Vicky and his friend Bittu sought out Rudra, a villager who knew the dark history of the Stree. According to the Chanderi Purana, only a person born of a prostitute could defeat the Stree. The entire village, including Rudra, knew that Vicky’s mother was a prostitute, making him the only one capable of ending the terror.

Determined to end the curse, Vicky, Bittu, and Rudra headed to the abandoned mansion where the Stree was believed to have lived. As they tried to confront the spirit, she suddenly appeared, ready to kill Vicky. At that moment, the mysterious girl reappeared and intervened, saving Vicky from certain death. She revealed that she had been hunting the Stree for a long time and was now ready to destroy her.

Vicky realized that the only way to defeat the Stree was to sever her braid, which was the source of her power. They devised a plan to trap her, but when the Stree struck again, she abducted Vicky and dragged him to the mansion.

In a tense final showdown, the mysterious girl arrived just in time. In the chaos that followed, she managed to cut off the Stree’s braid, causing the spirit to vanish. With the Stree seemingly defeated, the girl prepared to leave. However, in a surprising twist, she attached the severed braid to her own hair, amplifying her power. This ominous conclusion hinted at a sequel, scheduled for release on August 15, 2024.
