Sonic x Shadow Generations Collector’s Edition Revealed, Includes Dreamcast Statue

Sega and Limited Run Games are partnering together to create a Sonic x Shadow Generations Collector’s Edition, which includes a variety of physical collectibles for fans to pick up.

What is in the Sonic x Shadow Generations Collector’s Edition?

The highlight of the Collector’s Edition is a statue of Sonic and Shadow standing atop a Sega Dreamcast, a reference to the classic Sonic games that released on the system. The Collector’s Edition also includes a number of other physical items, including:

• Reversible Cover
• Legacy Skin for Modern Sonic (Pre-order Bonus)
• Gerald Robotnik’s Journal – A 28-page logbook chronicling Gerald’s innermost thoughts and drawings while he create Shadow the Hedgehog and the Ark Space Station

Preorders for the Collector’s Edition are available now on Limited Run Games’ website, and will only remain open until October 6, 2024, giving fans about two months to secure a copy should they want one.

The Sonic x Shadow Generations Collector’s Edition will retail for $249.99, and is set to release sometime in 2025, with the game itself shipping sometime between October 25-November 8, in line with the game’s release on October 25, 2024.

“Play as Shadow the Hedgehog in a brand-new story campaign featuring never-before-seen powers and abilities that prove why he’s known as the Ultimate Life Form,” reads the video’s description. “Sonic x Shadow Generations also includes a complete remaster of the classic hit Sonic Generations, featuring newly remastered versions of iconic 2D and 3D stages with upgraded visuals and new bonus content.”

The game is an enhanced remastered version of 2011’s Sonic Generations and features new collectibles, bonus content, and more, including upgraded visuals and cinematics. Sonic x Shadow Generations also includes a full remaster of the original Sonic Generations, which combined nostalgia from the iconic 2D era of Sonic with the blistering excitement of modern 3D Sonic gameplay.
