Wrestling veteran Eric Bischoff has recently urged AEW President Tony Khan to grant creative control to former WWE writer Jennifer “Jen” Pepperman for the promotion. Pepperman, who left WWE earlier this year after serving as a senior writer and producer since 2017, now brings her expertise to AEW.

Upon leaving WWE, Pepperman transitioned to AEW, where she began working closely with Tony Khan, who also serves as the Head of Creative. In her new role, Pepperman focuses on developing content for AEW’s live programming, leveraging her extensive experience in television and wrestling.

The former WWE writer’s move to AEW followed a notable working relationship with Mercedes Mone, which played a role in her hiring. Her addition to the AEW team has been significant, as she brings a wealth of experience in the promotion.

However, the promotion is currently facing challenges with live fan attendance and TV ratings. In light of these issues, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has voiced his opinion that Tony Khan should consider giving Jen Pepperman more creative control.

Eric Bischoff wants Jen Pepperman in AEW creative role

On his podcast titled 83 Weeks, Eric Bischoff reflected on the episode of “AEW Unrestricted” featuring Jen Pepperman, where he came to appreciate her. Bischoff encouraged Tony Khan to entrust Pepperman with the responsibility of booking in AEW. He stated, “It’s just a matter of time before Tony is going to have to make a change. He’s got unlimited financial resources. That’s a big part of it. But he’s got the human resources right there under his nose — Jen Pepperman.”

Bischoff also touched on AEW’s upcoming media rights deal with Warner Brothers. He expressed, “If he gets that renewal, and it’s the same product that continues to lose [its] audience, it’s just a matter of time. He’s got Jen. If I was Tony, I would sit down with Jen Pepperman today, before the sun goes down, and say, ‘Jen, I want you to build the new AEW creative system.”

With AEW consistently struggling with fan attendance and TV ratings, whether Tony Khan will make any major changes in the promotion remains to be seen.
