The first Queer clip for A24’s upcoming period romance drama has been released, which hails from Oscar-nominated filmmaker Luca Guadagnino. At the moment, the film currently has no official release date yet, but A24 will be handling its North American theatrical distribution.

Check out the first Queer clip below (

    ):

Who is in the Queer clip?

The clip features Knives Out star Daniel Craig as his character tries to awkwardly flirt with Drew Starkey‘s character at a bar. Both Craig and Starkey are currently at the 2024 Venice International Film Festival for the world premiere of Queer, along with Guadagnino. The film is also competing for the festival’s Golden Lion prize.

“Set in 1940s Mexico City, it follows William Lee who has fled from a drug bust in New Orleans. In Mexico City, Lee wanders around the city’s clubs and becomes infatuated with drug user Eugune Allerton, a discharged American Navy serviceman,” reads the synopsis.

Queer is directed and produced by Guadagnino from a screenplay written by Challengers scribe Justin Kuritzkes, based on William S. Burroughs’ 1985 novel of the same name. Joining Craig and Starkey are Jason Schwartzman, Lesley Manville, Henry Zaga, Drew Droege, Ariel Schulman, Colin Bates, Omar Apollo, Ronia Ava, and more.
