Former WWE Champion CM Punk has been deeply involved in a personal feud with Drew McIntyre since the beginning of this year. This rivalry reached a crucial point at the WWE Bash in Berlin this past weekend. CM Punk finally managed to defeat McIntyre in a highly anticipated strap match, reclaiming his fan-made bracelet.

For months, Punk had been determined to get back the bracelet that McIntyre had taken from him. The latter used the bracelet to taunt and provoke Punk. The strap match at the WWE Bash in Berlin marked a significant turning point, with Punk overcoming McIntyre and securing the bracelet in a decisive victory.

Although Punk appeared ready to move past McIntyre and put their rivalry behind him, the latter had other plans. On the most recent edition of WWE RAW, McIntyre launched a brutal attack on Punk, indicating he was far from finished with him.

This attack suggested that WWE plans to continue this storyline, keeping the rivalry alive and intense. As the feud between Punk and McIntyre unfolds, recent reports have started revealing details about Punk’s next opponent.

Major WWE match reportedly planned for CM Punk

Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer reports that WWE is reportedly planning a match between CM Punk and the current World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther. Meltzer confirmed that Punk’s path to a title match is in development on the Wrestling Observer Radio podcast.

He stated, “He’s obviously going to wrestle Gunther, just not right away. They’re keeping the Drew McIntyre thing going, they got rid of the bracelet, it looked to me like the blow-off was the bracelet but the feud obviously is keeping going.”

On WWE RAW, CM Punk seemed poised to move on from his feud with Drew McIntyre. He had already set his sights on the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther. However, McIntyre’s brutal attack on Punk derailed those plans and prolonged their rivalry.

Despite the ongoing feud with McIntyre, a few days ago, reports emerged that WWE is reportedly planning for Punk to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. This anticipated match is reportedly scheduled for the WWE Survivor Series in November.
