COMMERCE — The Texas A&M University- Commerce soccer team learned its Southland Conference opponents for the 2024 season.

The Lions, who are coming off a second-place finish in the SLC a year ago, while posting an overall winning record of 9-7-3, are slated to play 10 conference matches in 2024, playing each of the other teams in the conference once. The Southland Conference adds two soccer playing members this season in the University of Texas of the Rio Grande Valley and Stephen F. Austin. The Lions begin the conference slate on Sept. 22 at UTRGV, which is the first ever meeting between the two teams.

The Lions' first two conference home matches come on Sept. 27 and 29, hosting SFA and Southeastern, respectively. A&M-Commerce is 2-1 all-time against SFA, but the two teams are meeting in the regular season for the first time since 1998.

This season marks the third meeting between A&M-Commerce and Southeastern, with A&M-Commerce being 1-0-1 in the all-time series.

The three-match home stand concludes on Oct. 4 against A&M-Corpus Christi, as the Lions look to go 4-1 against the Islanders all-time.

The Lions then head to the road to face Nicholls on Oct. 11 and Northwestern State on Oct. 13. A&M-Commerce is undefeated against Nicholls, having allowed just one goal in three matches, while the Lions have won the last two meetings against the Lady Demons.

A&M-Commerce returns home for a crucial home stand on Oct. 18-20, facing McNeese on Oct. 18 and Lamar on Oct.20. The Cowgirls finished third in the SLC a year ago and were a SLC Tournament finalist, while the Cardinals are the two-time defending conference champions.

This is the first meeting between A&M-Commerce and Lamar in Commerce since 2022 and it is also the final home match of the season.

The final road swing of the season begins on Oct. 25 against the University of the Incarnate Word, and the regular season closes out on Nov. 1 at Houston Christian. The Lions are undefeated against the Cardinals in the Division I era, while they look to avenge the first round loss to the Huskies in last year's conference tournament.

The SLC Tournament returns to Corpus Christi and is slated for Nov. 5-10.
