Contra Costa County has issued an evacuation warning for residents north of state Highway 4 between Concord and Bay Point due to a fast-moving vegetation fire.

The fire was reported shortly before 3 p.m. off of Evora Road, which is near Willow Pass Road.

Firefighters said at 3:18 p.m. they were setting up for "structure protection" at 31 Kelsey Court in Bay Point.

The county's community warning system said zones CCC-E217 and CCC-E218 should prepare to evacuate. People can find out their zone at https://cwsalerts.com/know-your-zone/.

"No evacuation has been ordered at this time, but it is possible one may become necessary," the county said in an alert. "You should prepare now in case an evacuation is ordered. Gather any important items you could carry with you, including medications, baby supplies, money, important papers, and photos.

"Locate any pets or animals and be prepared to cage or leash them. If you require additional time to evacuate, you should leave now. You will receive further instructions if an evacuation becomes necessary," the county said.
