WIU Summer Camp Shows Off Opportunities for Rural Students
Underserved youth were given an opportunity to develop their interest in enrolling in higher education at Western Illinois University in mid-July. High school students from school districts in Peoria, Monmouth, Beardstown and Macomb attended the Addressing Equity Gaps Among Rural Students summer camp at WIU, a project funded by the Department of Education’s Rural Postsecondary and Economic Development Program (RPED). The camp was held July 16-17.
New High School Building Proposal Appears To Be Off the Table After Community Survey Results
A proposal for a brand new high school building for the Winchester School District appears to be off the table. Members of St. Louis-based marketing and research firm Creative Entourage Research presented the results of a community-wide survey conducted over the last two months to the Winchester School Board on Tuesday night.
